Beginnings
Our roots as a private philanthropy reach back to the sale of Wichita’s Wesley Medical Center in 1985. First known as the Wesley Foundation, in 1991 we were renamed the Kansas Health Foundation. Today, our assets total approximately $540 million, with nearly $26 million in grants paid out last year. Many incredible individuals have shaped and guided the Foundation through the years, investing their energies, enthusiasm, commitment and pioneer tenacity. We continue to build on their remarkable legacy of caring for the people of Kansas.
